This tool is built for Cambridge OCR's GCSE (9–1) in Business — J204. OCR's GCSE spec is deliberately narrow and prescriptive: every topic lists exactly what's examinable under “points to include,” and every question in this bank is checked against that list. Nothing beyond the named content — no extra models, terms or frameworks — has been introduced, since going beyond the spec can cost marks or teach students something an examiner won't credit.
A pit stop is a four-question retrieval starter, run at the start of a lesson. Unlike a normal recap, it's built on interleaved retrieval practice: instead of only reviewing what you just taught, you deliberately reach back to several earlier points in the course — a topic from last lesson, last week, last month, and last year — in the same four minutes.
Retrieving spaced-out material is harder than reviewing what's fresh, and that difficulty is the point: it's what makes the memory stick and builds the connections across the specification that the extended-response and synoptic questions depend on.
The four slots always mean the same thing — last lesson, last week, last month, last year — but which question fills each one is up to you. Every school sequences its scheme of work differently, so pick whichever topic from the bank actually was covered last lesson, last week, etc. for your class.
Mapped to OCR's two-paper structure: Business 1 covers business activity, marketing and people (Component 01); Business 2 covers operations, finance and influences on business (Component 02). OCR builds synoptic assessment into Component 02 by design — at least two questions in its Section B draw on the full range of spec content — so the Synoptic circuit deliberately links a decision in one function to its consequence in another, e.g. an HR decision that shows up in the finance function.
